Early Life of Rob Zombie

Robert Bartleh Cummings was born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, on January 12, 1965. His younger brother, Michael Davis, also has a band named Powerman 5000. His younger brother’s stage name was Spider One. Ever since he was a young kid, he was already interested in horror and suspense movies, which was the reason why he wanted to become a filmmaker. In 1983 at Haverhill High School, Robert finished school and attended New York City’s Parsons School of Design.

Rob Zombie’s Career

While he was still at Parson’s School of Design, he founded his own heavy metal band, White Zombie, together with Sean Yseult. The band had four studio albums, and the most successful ones were La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One and Astro-Creep. His first solo effort was a 1996 song entitled “Hands of Death,” which was written and performed with Alice Cooper. The song received a nomination for the Best Metal Performance at the 39th Annual Grammy Awards.

In 1997, he began working on his debut solo studio album, Hellbilly Deluxe, which was released in August 1998. The movie entitled “House of 1000 Corpses” was the first movie that he directed. It gave him a big boost and later followed the film entitled “The Sinister Urge” and became his second platinum album in the U.S.

In 2007, he shifted his career and became a director. His first remake project was the remake of the horror classic “Halloween,” which was released in August 2007. This has been his first ever box-office film and is one of his highest grossing films. After two years, he then released a sequel on it entitled “H2.”

Rob was also had his own Zombie-A-Go-Go Records. Its final release was Rob Zombie Presents Captain Clegg and The Night Creatures. He had also made comic book series like Spookshow International. He was also the executive producer of the animated film The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, which was based on his comic book series, The Adventures of El Superbeasto.

Favorite Quotes from Rob Zombie

“I never saw just music as music, you know. I saw it all as one big thing.” – Rob Zombie

“Metal is just like that, except it’s like all the weird kids are in one place.” – Rob Zombie

“Nobody wants to be the weird kid. It just happened that you end up being the weird kid.” – Rob Zombie

“Sometimes, when people are so good at something and are so influential, people almost take it for granted.” – Rob Zombie

Life Lessons You Can Learn from Rob Zombie

We can’t deny that Rob Zombie’s life has gone through ups and downs, however, after learning about Rob Zombie net worth, we can definitely learn a few things from his successes.

Put your phone down.

In an interview during TrunkFest, he mentioned that he discourages people from recording his show the whole time because he wants the crowd to enjoy the moment. He recognizes the fact that people record on their phones for the keepsake, but the live experience of a show is different when you watched it on your phone. This goes to many of us that we should disconnect to our phones and actually experience the moment while we’re at it.

Let your creativity flow.

Rob was not only known for his great music but also the fantastic show he gives during his performance. His performances showcased his creativity in music and visuals like giant robots, lights, etc. Something that most bands do, but he stands out amongst them all. As he mentioned in an interview, “A guy paid 50 bucks for your show, so you got to give them a heck of a show.”

A team that bonds together will last decades.

White Zombie was disbanded. However, it was a mutual decision among band members. Rob mentioned that the band was messy, and they don’t even talk to each other that much. Going on stage, performing, and pretending that everything is good was something that he didn’t like- a total opposite with his other band with John 5. They bonded and had a great time with each other.

This relates us to all aspects of life. The team can function well but not for a long-term basis. It’s hard being around people that you don’t like and working with them. It’s a whole lot of work, and it adds up to another load of your responsibilities. So, it’s really ideal for us to connect with our own group and sync with each other.

Your interest is a whole new world.

Rob has been into horror, grunge, and suspense since he was young. We know that the kids who like this genre are labeled as the ‘weird kid.’ For Rob, he continued his interest and eventually made something out of it. His music was a platinum record, but it was still something that most people don’t know. The ones that are aware of this are the people that are in the same genre.

Basically, this is telling us that our interests will attract people within that world. You shouldn’t dread being left out just because the people around you don’t share the same interests as you. That feeling of being left out is only temporary. There’s a whole world in that genre. Eventually, metal rock fans and horror fanatics will come along, and you’ll get to connect with them.

Summary

Rob was a very artistic and creative man. A role model to remind us that we have to do our best shot. A singer, songwriter, and director, Rob ventured into different places to showcase his art and passion. His love for horror, suspense, and mystic creatures didn’t die out even when he grew into an adult. His childhood hobby of creating comics was still with him, and made money out of it. As of 2020, Rob’s net worth is $40 million.

If you’re going to do something, then do your best of best. His interests belong to the minority, but it didn’t hinder him from doing what he likes. Most people would stereotype that the world that he’s in is creepy. The kind that you tell your kids to stay away from. An interviewer once noted, “There’s a lot more to metal in rock than just the music it’s got to be a show otherwise, it’s just grunge.” This gives us a lesson that even if you belong to the minority, even if most people don’t share your cup of tea, you can always pave the way for success. You can always bring out the best in you and in what you do.
