Tim Cook Announced That He’s Gay: This Is How People Reacted To The News

Tim Cook

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO just announced that he’s proud to be gay. In the recent Businessweek article, Tim Cook acknowledged his true sexuality.

While I have never denied my sexuality, I haven’t publicly acknowledged it either, until now. So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.

While this may be a good thing, you can’t please everybody. People all over the world has expressed their opinions through social media. The LGBT community, pro-gender equality and human rights advocates are proud; the religious and the righteous are appalled; some remained indifferent; while the rest made facetious and homophobic remarks.

Here’s how different people reacted to the news:

The proud…

The righteous…

The indifferent…

…and the funny (some to a certain extent)

Of course Samsung, the longstanding rival of Apple, wasn’t able to escape the jokes.  Here’s what apple fanboys had to say about this:

Part of social progress is understanding that a person is not defined only by one’s sexuality, race, or gender. I’m an engineer, an uncle, a nature lover, a fitness nut, a son of the South, a sports fanatic, and many other things. I hope that people will respect my desire to focus on the things I’m best suited for and the work that brings me joy
