Coming from the west coast area, we’ve been seeing some new developments with shipping containers. There are a lot of different types of businesses you can do with it: shopping, retail, offices. But to be honest, I’ve never thought you’d be able to create a hotel out of shipping containers!
This hotel, Quadrum, is shipped in a pyramid, which was inspired by the triangular shape of the mountains. The architects Sandro Ramishvili and Irakli Eristavi are the minds behind this extraordinary creation. Quadrum was built with a minimalistic style in mind, having the hotel repeat the local terrain, cascading down the mountain side.
The materials used to build this hotel were environmentally friendly and local produced. The philosophy behind this project was to safeguard the environment from the harmful effects of work and leisure. This hotel is the first boutique located in the Upper Gudauri, Republic of Georgia.
